T-37 Tweet

The T-37 Tweet AKA the flying dog-whistle.

1996-02-07 - First T-37 solo (00181) .

Early morning at Sheppard AFB - walking out for the first flight of the day.

T-37 Tweet formation ready for departure at ENJJPT runway 15L.

T-37 Tweet formation on the takeoff run - passing the supervisor unit in perfect position.

Done with the "Flying Dog-Whistle".
The Danes were in "Fat City". From the left; "GIR", "VIN", "STI", "ERI" & "LEJ".

Many hours were spent in front of the T-37 cockpit layout. It was hanging on my wall and was always a good way to practice the procedures. Practice, pratice and more practice and the speed during the operations were improving all the time.

T-38 Talon

The T-38 Talon.

The world's first supersonic jet trainer.

Enroute to Panama City in the T-38. That was 2 legs from Sheppard AFB.
"LOT", RDAF was my IP on this trip.

1996-08-23 - Cross-Country to Panama City.
We saw some nice build-ups enroute to Columbus AFB.

1996-08-25 - cruising back from Panama City (with "LOT", RDAF in 4351).
On this leg we suddenly got Emergency Fuel. The aircraft in front of us almost went off the runway during their landing due to standing water. Therefore we had to divert to Fort Smith on short final.

T-38s lined up on the ENJJPT Flight-line.

Due to the many operations (take-offs and landings) at Sheppard AFB, the Tower has delegated the control of the T37 and T38 runways to small control towers, called Cooter and Tinder. Tinder is manned with a combination of IPs and Students, who control the pattern in co-operation with the tower. Picture by Uffe Juul Andersen.
